Section of NCCF Members say term of office of current leadership expired, vows not to attend AGM

 A section of members of Nkuringo Conservation and Development foundation (NCCDF) say the meeting slated to take place Saturday 11th December is illegal citing that the meeting is being convened by leaders whose term expired on 31st August 2020.

In a four paged complaint addressed to Kisoro district police commander against Turyagenda Asigario,Niwamanya Amos, Saturday Donozio and Asimwe Joseph, members through Kibuuka Rashid and Company advocates said that  the company is governed by a board whose term of office is 4 years with the position of the chairperson successively rotating between Nteko and Rubuguri parishes.

They say that since the expiry of their term of office the authority of Turyagenda Asigario,Niwamanya Amos, Saturday Donozio and Asimwe Joseph as the chairperson, treasurer, secretary  and speaker of the company respectively, was extinguished and reverted back to the general assembly which is the supreme organ of the company.

Member also said that Turyagenda Asigario resigned a non-existing office on 13th October 2020. A copy of resigination was seen by this reporter with a signature of Asigario.

In the complaint, the members requested security to stop the impugned Heneral Assembly meeting scheduled 11th December 2021 until a proper notice of the same given and to be presided over by a representative of Registrar of companies.

The also requested that OC.CID kisoro police station issues summons to Turyagenda Asigario,Niwamanya Amos, Saturday Donozio and Asimwe Joseph for interrogation on allegations of conspiracy to commit  a felony, conspiracy to defraud, forgery, uttering a false document, embezzlement, impression, and obtaining money by false pretense all contrary to the Penal Code Act. 

However it should be noted that a big section of NCCDF member supported the amending of the constitution from 4 to 7 years and this was seen on 18th January 2020.

When Contacted for a comment, ASigario Turyagenda told this reporter that the meeting will be held without fail.

He said that people who are mobilizing members to miss the General Assembly are enemies of Development in NCCDF.

NCCDF was formed in 2004 and helps people from 23 villages that make up Rubuguri and Nteko parishes
