KANUNGU :A 55 Year old man has collapsed and died after participating in bread and chapati eating competitions in Kibimbiri trading,Kanungu district.
The Kigezi police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Sentenekora Gad a mukiga by tribe, peasant and a resident of Kayembe cell Kabuga parish , Kihihi subcounty in Kanungu district.
It's alleged that on the 25 /12/2021 the deceased participated in the eating competition of eating cakes and chapati with 9 other participants organised by one Seveino at Kibimbiri trading centre. The winner was to win prizes.
However, during the process of eating, the deceased collapsed and was rushed to Kigezi health centre IV where he was pronounced dead at about 8:00pm.
Maate said that the scene was visited by OC CID Kihihi police station and a team of detectives.
The case has been opened at Kabuga police post under SD REF 04/26/12/202.
In arelated development ' one Twinamasiko Good aged 50yrs old mukiga resident of Kameme cell, Kimbiri parish , Kihihi sub county in Kanungu district died instantly after swallowing rat poison.
This was as a result of getting misunderstandings with the wife after was chased from his second wife's place that didn't go well for him hence committed suicide.
The police mouth piece in Kigezi Elly Maate said the wife from where he died has been arrested for questioning.
