Authorities in Kabale District have called upon the public to report unusual things to police as the country grapples with Terror threat.
This was revealed after the tour of hot spot villages in Kabale Municipality most especially in Nyabikoni, Kekubo, Kirigime, Mwanjari and Kigonji. With all counter Terrorism Unit, Field Force Unit, Criminal Investigation Unit, fire Brigade, Traffic and Medical police.
The above areas have been reported to be areas of the gangs, robbers who go on at night breaking people’s houses and robbing their properties,
Speaking to our reporter, the Kabale District Police Commander Asp Able Ruganza thanked the media and Police officers who have demonstrated fitness touring the Kabale Municipality.
He added, they are aware of the challenges in the community and they are ready to deal with any challenge the community may face, he added, the fire brigade, CID, CCTV cameras , Anti-Riot Police and counter Terrorisms police all are ready to protect and elevate criminals in the area.
He added, the level of criminal cases have reduced in the district through community policing and carrying out intensive night and day patrols and people should not get afraid in this festive season but should use police.
He called upon religious leaders to have metal Detectors at the entry points and have cameras installed on Education Institutions and other public places to trace in case of criminality
