Security says they carried out the operation to arrest people who were breaking COVID_19 SOPs in bars.
Security told our reporter that the people who were arrested were mainly got from bars and clubs.
Police carried an operation at Club hills along Mutanda road where many people were enjoying.
Early Sunday morning people say police cut the door of the club to get into the bar where people had closed themselves.
The kisoro deputy RDC Ndikumwami Dan said; "some people in Kisoro don't bother about other people's lives ..Covid is increasing in the nation in Kisoro we had tried our level best to follow SOPs but bad people want Covid back ..we shall not tolerate this impunity. As security we are enforcing SOPs and other commands from HE and MOH. Many people who are not following orders will be seriously arrested and charged no one is above the law. Impunity in Kisoro has increased. Security has been abused and tarnished yet they are doing their good work but we shall not cease the fire...telikuzikiza muliro buli omu yebelemu ..we want our people in Kisoro safe".
Ndikumwami said that even bars and clubs that are operating will be closed till further notice.He added that attendants , customers and owners will be arrested and charged too.
