Thirty one juveniles from Kisoro who have been on remand in Kabale remand home on Tuesday 8th appeared before Kisoro magistrate’s court.

Twenty eight appeared before grade one magistrate His worship Raphael Vueni while three appeared before the chief magistrate His worship Komakech Keneth.

The juveniles looked malnourished and bony which was attributed to poor feeding. The suspects are between 14-17 years.

This was observed yesterday in court as they appeared to answer different charges that were preferred against them.

Their state prompted His worship Raphael Vueni to ask the officer who brought them in court whether they feed the Juveniles in Kabale remand home.

The officer told magistrate that the number of children at Kabale remand home is overwhelming and beyond their capacity.

He revealed that three minors share a meal that is supposed to be for one child in a day because of the big number at the facility.

He asked the magistrate to release some so that they can remain with manageable number.
