Police in kisoro
district is investigating circumstances surrounding the murder of 9 years old
boy.
The deceased whose
identities were not yet known by press time, a mutwa by tribe was found
dead in Bizitiro village, Sooko parish in Muramba Sub County.
Emmanuel Nizeyimana a local leader at the
scene told our reporter that the deceased was a resident of Rukeri village in
Nyarusiza Sub County.
It is alleged that the
three young boys of Batwa decent were on Monday 7th found in a field gathering the
Irish potatoes left behind by the reapers but the two managed to flee leaving
the one that was assaulted to death by people who were guarding the gardens in
Bizitiro village.
The dead body was
discovered today morning hidden in a rock and police was notified, visited the
scene and investigations have commenced.
A local leader told our
reporter that two people who were guarding the garden and suspected to have
assaulted the minor have been arrested at Nyarusiza police while another one is
still at large.
After receiving the
heartbreak information, the Batwa from Rukeri thronged the area and condemned
the killing. They asked authorities to provide justice to the minority tribe of
Batwa.
