Kisoro Municipality asked to work on drainage channels and garbage collection

 

Kisoro municipality has been called upon to prioritize the issue of drainage and garbage collection in the next financial year 2023/2024.

The call was made yesterday by the Kisoro district deputy RDC Robert Tukamuhebwa while closing the budget conference that was held at Tourist hotel.

Tukamuhebwa said that the town is currently in mess due to poor water drainage and garbage which he said it is poorly managed.

He asked political leaders and technocrats to work together and ensure that the town is clean id Kisoro are to become a tourism town.

He also cautioned leaders to protect government property and avoid selling them off because the habit can land them in jail.

Kisoro municipality Mayor Richard Ndyana said that drainage and garbage management are priority areas which the municipality will handle in the next financial year.

All municipal divisions presented their priority areas which they intend to work on in the next financial year. Angelo Mfitundida the central division town clerk in his presentation said they have plans of putting pavers in New Market among other.

Ndikuyeze Ramathan the Kisoro said political wing and technocrats should work together to have SHaza HC3 supported by government.
