A section of
Kisoro district leaders together with NRM executive members have today
endorsed president Museveni as a sole candidate for 2026-2031 which irked many
district councils that recently welcomed team Muhozi Kainerugaba (MK PROJECT).
Dr Philimon Mateke the Kisoro district NRM
Chairperson says, the reason why they endorsed president Museveni as a sole
candidate is because he still has many projects to do and he is still strong.
The endorsement followed a meeting in the district
council that was presided over by Dr Philimon Mateke.
District
chairperson Abel Bizimana also praised president Museveni for bringing peace in
the country and that is why he should keep leading the country.
Ngarama Gerald NRM
publicity secretary Kisoro and Bishubeho Louis LCV Councilor representing
Kirundo Sub County insisted that Museveni is a good leader to lead the country.
However some Councilors opposed endorsing President
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as sole candidate for 2026-2031.
Counselors say
that they will not endorse Gen Museveni unless he fulfills the pledges he
pledged Kisoro district for a long time.
They say there is
confusion since the MK team came and were welcomed by district leaders
including deputy RDC and NRM vice chairperson among others.
The Kisoro
district speaker Amos Hakizimana tasked the LC5 chairpersonAbel Bizimana to
write to the president and find a way of ending confusion in the district. Amos
Hakizimana was among people who welcomed the MK team on 10th September
this year.
On 10th September 2022, the western team of MK project
led by its western chairperson Mr.Agaba Gerald and the national director for
public communications in Team MK project Mr.Rwereshera Ashraf who is also the
assistant head of intelligence in the National Secretariat were welcomed in
Kisoro.
