Kisoro
municipal leaders together with other mourners have today eulogized the
fallen Northern division speaker John Bakunda as a person who has been a
reliable leader and hardworking.
Bakunda who has been the Northern division speaker
died at the age of 75 on Monday. Northern division eulogized him at Kisoro municipal
council hall
Kisoro municipal may Richard Ndyana said that Bakunda will
always be remembered as a God fearing person, focused, devoted and reliable leader,
peace loving and an advocate of unity of all people throughout his life on
earth.
Micheal Bazamanza the Northern LC3 chairperson said
that Bakunda did all he could to promote the development of Northern
division. CUE
The new Northern division speaker Iyamuremye Gerald said
that not only excelling in promoting development; the late John Bakunda has
left a legacy of being a hard working person in several activities.
Niyonzima Jonas the vicar of St Andrew’s cathedral said that everybody in any capacity
should be identified by good deeds because one day everybody will leave this
world.
Haruna Kamaba the Kisoro Municipal town clerk aslo
said that late John Bakunda has been a visionary leader since he came to know
him whe he visited Northern division.
The Northern divison council supported a motion have
one road in Northern division named after John Bakunda in honor for his great achievements
to the municipality.
Late John Bakunda served as sub parish chief for
Rwaramba and Rwamashenyi and later joined political leadership as LC1
chairperson of Nyagashinge villahe and was later elevated to LC2 chairperson
Northern division.
The deceased died when he was serving as a division
councilor representing older persons in the council and at the same time
serving as the division speaker.
He was laid to rest at his home in Nyagashine village,
Northern division Kisoro Municipality after a requiem service at St Andrews cathedral
Seseme church of Uganda
