The founder of Ntakwimu care for elderly Moses Dusabe has said that older
people have to be supported in all spheres of life to help them live happily
and longer in their advanced age.
Ntakwimu care for elderly is an NGO based in Chibumba village, Matinza
trading center, Rwingwe parish Nyakabande Sub County, Kisoro district.
Dusabe Moses said that he started the NGO with the aim of supporting
older people above 65 years of age who are vulnerable to disease but fail to go
for medical checkup.
On Saturday 12th over 65 older people converged at Ntakwimu
premises and 25 people tested positive for hypertension and high
blood pressure.
Dusabe Moses asked them to have a kitchen garden with vegetables that can
boost the immunity of their bodies. Dusabe Moses requested elders who tested
positive for hypertension to always eat balanced diet like greens.
He also said that he has a vision of starting a sacco for them since they
have reached the advanced years that do not allow them to look for money.

focal person said many of the
elderly who were tested had diabetes and high blood pressure but many of them
didn’t know about they are positive.
Meanwhile
beneficiaries thanked Ntakim care for the elderly for supporting them in
different things more especially testing for blood pressure and diabetes.
Sandra Gray, British citizen pledged to support the organization by looking for sponsors to support because the idea of supporting elderly is wise.
