Minister Nyirabashitsi said this while touring villages that make up Sooko and Gisozi parishes on Tuesday 4th September 2022.
She said that parents must strive to enable their children go beyond the basic living. Nyirabashitsi said Muramba has a high number of school dropouts which she said it should stop.
Nzabona Francis the LC3 chairperson of Muramba Sub County said that they are going to crack a whip on children and parents who allow their children to drop out of the school.
Parents confirmed that many children are dropping out from schools due reluctance of parents. They added that bad habits also contribute to school dropout.
Among other things that dominated the request of residents in all villages in Sooko and Gisozi parishes include, lack of public water tap stands, no electricity in villages, delayed compensations to the people to the people whose property will be affected by construction of Kisoro-Mugahinga road and the need to upgrade Muramba Health center three to Health center IV.
In her response,Sarah Nyirabashitsi told the residents that she has informed the concerned authorities to extend water to villages and that the power will be connected to the redundant lines soon.
Minister Nyirabashitsi who is Kisoro woman mp thanked voters of Rusenyi village in Sooko parish for voting her enormously during February 2021 general elections.
She gave each women LC0 clan ( imiryango-yibirago) a sourcepan to use during functions in villages
In Gisozo parish, residents said that their children were left behind during the recruitment of rangers yet Park neighbours would be the given a priority.
Minister said she will talk to minister of tourism so that he can come to Kisoro and listen to the concerns.
