The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disclosed that at least 5
Heads of State have arrived in Uganda ahead of the country’s 60th Independence
Day Celebrations.
Uganda will today 9th October 9, 2022 celebrate its 60th
Independence Day at Kololo Independence Grounds and the chief celebrant will be
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, the Heads of State who are already in Uganda include Burundi President
Evariste Ndayishimye, Kenyan President William Somoei Ruto, Somali President
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, South Sudan President Salva Kiir and Zanzibar President
Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi.
Today’s independence is celebrated under the theme “A declaration of
African interdependence and our shared destination”.
