FARDC-M23 clashes: rebels captured this Sunday

The spokesperson for Sokala 2 operations, Colonel Guillaume Njike Kaiko, announced this Sunday, October 23 that some M23 rebels were captured during clashes between them and the FARDC.

These clashes continued this Sunday around the area of Ntamugenga, more than thirty km southeast of the capital of the territory of Rutshuru, in the province of North Kivu.

“The enemy again tried to attack our positions in Ntamugenga. Until this Sunday, we are in the process of containing it. All enemy initiatives are foiled by the FARDC. There are already captured among the rebels. Know that your army is evolving very well on the ground,” said Colonel Guillaume Njike Kaiko.

He invites the population living in the area where the fighting is taking place to take shelter:

“It is rather a question of the population having confidence in its army and that it takes shelter from the fact that the enemy fires on the populations who go to the fields, on motorcycles, … he has already caused losses in human lives on the side of the population. Let the people take shelter. His army remains determined to put an end once and for all to this enemy who only listens to the language of arms”.
