Bishop made the remarks as he preached at St Andrews cathedral Seseme today during Rufumbira service. Bishop said hope should be greater than all the hardships.
Bishop who congratulated the Christians for reaching the year 2022 told the Christians to pray hard in this year. He again tipped Christians to continue noting what they are doing for easy self-evaluations when the year is ending.
Meanwhile in the letter to all Anglican churches under Diocese of Muhabura, Bishop Cranmer Mugisha said the year of 2021 has been difficult Because of COVID-19 but all these will end with help of concerted prayers.
He said the devil is passing through the children to destabilize the harmonious world
He asked religious leaders and government leaders to cooperate to prepare a good foundation for the children.
This year’s theme for Church of Uganda is in the book of Lamentations 3:22-26.
At Kisoro Central Adventist Church, Church elder Julius Barere said 2021 should be a lesson to many because of its difficulties where many lives were claimed by Covid-19.
He encouraged Christians to have a helping hand to others because whatever they have is for God.
At Gisoro Catholic parish, Father John Bazimenyera the dean of Mutolere deanery urged Christians to consider time as great resource because once gone it is never regained.
Father Bazimenyera described 2021 as the year that was long, terrified with many corners, slippery, bumpy with a lot of steep hills to climb and deep valleys to walk through.
He asked Christians to take a reflection in what they went through 2021 and thank God for his mercy, grace and protection upon their lives.
At Kisoro United Pentecostal church in Kisoro municipality, the preacher Emmanuel Mfitumikiza from Buhangura Pentecostal church asked people to give to the needy rather than eating,drinking and dressing only.
He continued to say 2021 has been a test to many people, horrifying and slippery with a lot of hardships but God helped His people who had hope in Him.
