The state minister in charge of children and Youths affairs Hon Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateeke yesterday started her annual activity of giving scholastic materials to P.7 candidate in Kisoro district as a way of wishing them success in their forthcoming PLE exams.
The scholastic materials which minister Sarah give to P.7 candidates include mathematical sets, pens and pencils to help the candidates while doing their final exams.
Sunday Julius the Gitovu head teacher commended minister Nyirabashitsi for supporting the pupils who struggle to get sets and pens during exams. He also thanked her for encouraging them.
Biringo Charles the Nyarutembe head teacher commended Hon Sarah for encouraging pupils. He however said that the school has over 900 pupils with 12 teachers which he said it stresses teachers.
Pupils at Gitovu,Kinanira and Nyarutembe praised Hon Minister Sarah for giving them mathematical sets, pens and pencils. They also thanked her for wishing them success in their exams.
The LC3 chairperson of Nyabwishenya sub county Uwiringiyimana Laurent beseeched the Kisoro local government to add more teachers in schools in Nyarutembe because the number of pupils is overwhelming.
Every year, Hon Sarah Mateeke wishes P.7 candidates in Kisoro district by giving them mathematical sets,pens and pencils.
The Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) are scheduled to start with a briefing on November 7. In contrast to previous years where students were granted a day or two after the briefing, primary seven candidates this time will begin the exam the next day and finish on November 9.
