KISORO: Nyakinama seed secondary school commissioned

 

The state minister for gender, labour and social development in charge of children and Youths affairs, Hon Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateeke has today commissioned a 2.3 billion Nyakinama seed secondary school.

Ntyakinama seed secondary school that was built by Geses (U) limited contractors was funded by that World Bank.

In the speech for the minister for education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni that was read by Hon Nyirabashitsi said that building seed schools is government initiative aimed at  human initiative capital development which is a formula for empowering people to make them self-sustainable.

She said that the government is determined to build seed schools in every sub county.

Hon Nyirabashitsi asked Nyakinama people to take care of the school since it will help many students who are struggling to get education.

She said that they will continue to push their efforts to have a government secondary school each sub county in Kisoro district.

The Nyakinama sub county LC3 chairperson said that people of Nyakinama and its vicinity have been waiting for a nearby secondary school to ease the movement of learners. He the sc.hool should be opened for learners in the next term and that they are ready to use it.

Ampaire Micheal the managing director of Geses (U) limited said that they finished construction activities in June 2021.He assured the people who were present that the structures of  quality and that anything that will happen they will be liable.

The Kisoro Chief Administrative Officer Onzou Ismail Musa requested the minister Nyirabashitsi to reach the ministry of education requesting them to organize qualified teachers to start Nyakinama so that student can pass well.

Nyakinama local leaders thanked the government and the previous leaders who lobbied   for the seed school. They said that learners are ready to join the school if it is opened at any day.

Geses Uganda limited constructed for seed schools in Kigezi region which costed a tune of 8.75 billion.

The schools include Buhara ss in Kabale district, Nyamweru in Rubanda,Kihorezo in Rukiga and Nyakinama seed school in Kisoro.
