Police in
Kisoro is holding a senior three student of St. Paul’s Mutolere Secondary
School after it is alleged that he assaulted another student over the weekend.
The
Suspect is Papius Turyagumanawe a senior three student who escaped from school
with Robert Niringiye Senior four and other students to drink alcohol.
When the
students returned from the bar according to the sources at the school, Turyagumanawe
began fighting with Niringiye and seriously hit him in the head with a sharp
object.
Niringire
was rushed to St. Francis Hospital Mutolere where he was later referred to
Mbarara regional referral hospital.
Hygiene Beyihisa
the St. Paul’s Mutolere Secondary School Head teacher has confirmed the
incident and urged parents to remain calm as the school is operating normally.
He says
Police has been involved to handle the assault case and he condemns
Indiscipline in school.
The
School guard confided to this reporter that the students fought in the
dormitory and that the security guards did their best to save the injured
child.
Niringiye
was admitted to St Francis Mutolere hospital but later referred to Mbarara
regional referral hospital for better management.
