The
suspect is detective Inspector of police Habineza Vianny attached to Bunagana
boarder station.
Prosecution
told magistrate His worship Fred Gidudu that Inspector of police Habineza
Vianny while at Rutare village, Rutare parish in Chahi Sub County in February
2021, had unlawful carnal knowledge with his 16 year old maid who he
impregnated centrally to penal cord Act section 129(1)
The maid
realized the pregnancy in April until the month of September when she was
hospitalized in labour and that is the time she reported the matter at Kisoro
police station, leaving the suspect to flee
Prpsecution
told the court that the house maid was recruited in January 2020 and was
staying in the suspect's home in Rutare village Chahi Sub County Kisoro
district.
Habineza who has been on run since last year was arrested on the 16th February 2022 at Kigezi regional headquarters at Kabale and because his case file was already sanctioned, he was produced in Kisoro magisterial court before his worship Gidudu Fred grade two magistrate.
His
worship Fred Gidudu charged the police officer with aggravated defilement
because should have protected the victim as a person in authority.
Habineza
was not allowed a plea as the case is capital offence that can only be heard
and tried in high court. His worship Gidudu remanded him to Kisoro prisons until
22nd march 2022 when will be back in court for mention.
