At least 14 of the Democratic Republic of Congo M23 rebel
fighters were on Tuesday 29th killed by military, sources say.
The M23 rebels regrouped and attacked several barracks in
Eastern DRC that forced many to cross to Uganda through Bunagana border and
other porous borders.
On Tuesday evening the rebels wanted to take over from FARDC but
were over powered.
In the process of firing bullets, some houses belonging to
civilians in Uganda were destroyed.
A house belonging to Nzirwanaho Justus a resident of Bunagana
town council was destroyed by bullets shot by M23 rebels.
Security source told this reporter that, “M23 attacked us, they shelled the Ugandan side and some civilian houses were destroyed, Our forces responded and 14 rebels were killed, seven were taken prisoners of war," UPDF source said, adding one of its soldiers was injured.Congolese who crossed to DRC on Friday 1st confided to this reporter that they have seen dead bodies of M23 rebels.
They say the dead bodies have started to rot.
