A secondary school teacher is also among the seven arrested notorious gang leaders behind Kisoro machete attacks.
The seven suspects were arrested in the last night operation when police and UPDF officers combed off Kisoro municipality following outcries from residents who always complain of goons that terrorize them.
Kisoro DPC SP Musisi Richard said that the secondary school teacher Mbonimpa Henry has been on a wanted list of high profile criminals who recruit members especially teenagers into criminality.
High profile criminals include;Nkunzima Wilson alias Gaca, Ngaruye Samuel,Nshimiyimana Samuel,
Niringiyimana Dan and many others
The recruited members admitted that they work for the arrested gang leaders in a sense that when they steal, they take the loot to them.
ASP Musisi revealed that the operation is still going on.
Our reporter visited crime spot areas of Russia, Muline, and Kekubo in Kisoro municipality and found residents celebrating on hearing that Mbonimpa Henry- a secondary school teacher was among those gang leaders arrested last night. They praised the team of police and UPDF officers who carried out the last night operation and asked them to track down other gang members.
Recently Kisoro town was characterized by machete attackers who snatched people's property. Many people are nursing wounds after being attacked.
