The compassion international country director Lenny Mugisha has assured the Diocese of Muhabura that four partnerships (compassion projects) will be started in Bufumbira North to support the less fortunate communities with the little resources.
Speaking during the Kisoro cluster celebration, thanksgiving and transition of Seseme and Kabindi CDC’s at seseme convention grounds on Wednesday 27 July 2022, Lenny Mugisha said that the compassion international will open four projects in Norths after the two phased out projects performed well in a period of 28 years.
Lenny Mugisha also called on the beneficiaries of compassion to always value the support provided to them by donors to benefit their communities.He said that some beneficiaries failed amidst the way while others completed successfully.
He said that projects have life span where they start and end saying that some projects end within a lifespan of 3 years congratulating diocese of Muhabura for the care support of the projects and have lasted for 28 years.
Citing a case in point where little girls have been subjected to defilement and early marriages where the head teacher of chuho primary school in Kisoro District defiled a minor ,he said the girls should be given special attention and their rights fought for explaining that there must always be justice to the wrong doers .
He said that compassion international has started its activities in northern uganda and over 7000 children have been supported.
The state minister for gender labour and social development in charge of youths and children's affairs Hon. Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi hailed the compassion international Uganda for supporting and nurturing children.
She commended the diocese of Muhabura for appropriate care of compassion projects with no embezzlement case of the project Funds registered adding that her ministry will always support compassion international to reach its goals.
Hon Sarah cautioned the beneficiaries against mishandling the opportunity provided to them but rather become the change agents within their communities to transformation.
Rt rev. Bishop Cranma Mugisha of Muhabura diocese said in 1994 when the compassion was started in Kisoro it was a hard walk and talk in communities since there were no beneficiaries.
In his word of applause to the compassion international she said compassion has transformed communities to intellectuals where most children attained high levels of education and have transformed communities.
Bishop Cranma asked the beneficiaries to aim at their target goals stated by the project compassion international of transforming communities in Kisoro district where many people have attained various levels of education.
He said called upon the parents and beneficiaries to thank God for the far He has brought them since 1994 the time compassioned started in the diocese.
Compassion international uganda beneficiaries Daffin uwimana and Silver Nizeyimana another project beneficiary said compassion has helped them to be what they are today.
Reverend canon Philip Muhire the sub dean of Muhabura diocese and the overseer seseme CDC said the transition of the two compassion projects is a transformation of the communities to developmental generations.
Reverend Steven Ruzaz the Muhabura diocesan secretary said the commemoration of the 28 years of compassion international in Kisoro has brought about change in communities through children livelihood change since 1994.
He said during the tenure of the compassion international serving Kisoro, there has been change in spiritual concepts for the children to become the creatures that God intended.
